This is a pretty cool softball drill I learned form one of my assistant softball coaches.  The focus of these softball throwing drills is to teach the players to learn to transfer their weight when hitting and throwing.  We call it the Flamingo Drill.
While the girls are warming up they stand sideways not facing each other.  They stand on their back foot and fold the front foot up like a flamingo. They give a target to receive the ball and try to catch the softball and maintain balance.
Once they catch the ball and have it in their throwing hand, they stride towards the player they are warming up with. Once the foot hits the ground they have transferred their weight and throw the ball. The goal is to get into a good throwing position and feel the transfer of weight.
